Freedom Federation Privacy Statement

Introduction

The social networking, blog, and events website is designed to provide a technological platform, for people who share one or more of the values contained in the Declaration of American Values, to network, communicate, organize, and mobilize. You decide how much information you want to share in your profile and with whom you want to share that information.

We request that minors, who are 13 years old or older, receive parental permission prior to sending any information about themselves to anyone over the Internet, and we encourage parents to teach their children about safe Internet use practices.

We will regularly review and enforce this policy.

Information We Receive and How We Use It

When you sign up for an account, you provide us with your name and location. During the registration process, you may provide further information, including a picture of yourself, to help others connect with you. One of the primary purposes of this networking tool is to share information, blogs, and events with others. If you do not want to include metadata associated with the content you share, please remove metadata before uploading the content.

Site Activity Information. We keep track of the actions you take while on the site, such as adding a friend, joining groups, and creating events.

Access Device and Browser Information. When you access this site from a computer, mobile phone, or other device, we may collect information from that device about your browser type, location, and IP address, as well as the pages you visit.

Cookie Information. We use “cookies” (data we store on your device) to make the site easier to use and for your protection. Cookie information makes it easier and quicker for you to log onto the site and allows you to retrieve a forgotten password. You can remove or block cookies using the settings in your browser, but removing them may impact your ability to use the site.

Information You Share

It is our desire that individuals use the information you share in a manner that is consistent with your privacy settings and with the purpose of the networking site. However, we cannot guarantee that users will comply with our purpose and guidelines. Please check your privacy settings to ensure you are sharing information in a way that best suits your desires, and please understand that information you share may be copied and shared with others and may remain viewable, even after your account is deleted.

“Everyone” Privacy Setting. Information set to “everyone” is publicly available information, may be accessed by everyone on the Internet (including people not logged into the site), is subject to indexing by third party search engines, may be associated with you outside of this site (such as when you visit other sites on the internet), and may be imported and exported by us and others without privacy limitations. The default privacy setting for certain types of information you post on the site is set to “everyone.” You can review and change the default settings in your privacy settings. If you delete “everyone” content that you posted on the site, we will remove it from your profile, but have no control over its use outside of the site.

Ownership of Content. You own all of the content and information you post on the site; however, in posting any information covered by intellectual property rights, you grant us nonexclusive, transferrable, sublicensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use any IP content that you post on or in connection with the site. When you provide feedback regarding the site, we may use that feedback without providing you any compensation.

Exporting Information. You may use tools like RSS feeds to export information from the site, including your information and information about you.

Links. When you click on links, you may leave the site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy statements.

How We Use Your Information

To manage the service. We want to provide the most safe and efficient site possible for your use. We also use your information to help us detect and address abuses of the site, such as to identify and eliminate spam or other activity that is inconsistent with the purpose of the site.

To provide you with information. There are many issues around the world we face today that directly impact our shared values. We want this site to be an educational tool in order to help you address these issues. Therefore, we may contact you with articles, information, and events that are occurring in your area.

To enable you to share information with others. This will occur primarily when you invite other individuals to join the site and when other individuals search for you to be their friend.

To respond to legal matters. We may disclose your information pursuant to a subpoena, court order, or other documentation that, according to our understanding, requires such disclosure by law. We may also share your information when we have a good faith belief that doing so will prevent fraud or other illegal activity, including the prevention of bodily harm. Additionally, we may use your information to ensure that you and others are using our site in conformance with its purpose.

Your account information is kept on a secure server behind a firewall. It is against our policy to allow for spam, and we have in place measures to prevent spam from being distributed. We reserve the right to remove any inappropriate content, or links to inappropriate content, and may suspend or disable accounts that violate the purpose of the site. Disputes.

  • Any claim, cause of action, or dispute (“claim”) arising out of or relating to the use of this site shall be resolved through non-binding mediation or binding arbitration, in accordance with the decision of the Freedom Federation. If you are a California resident, you waive California civil code §1542, which says: “a general release does not extend to claims which the creditor does not know or suspect to exist in his favor at the time of executing the release, which if known by him must have materially affected his settlement with the debtor.” We will not be liable to you for any lost profits or other consequential, special, indirect, or incidental damages arising out of, or in connection with, this statement or the site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our aggregate liability arising out of this statement or the site will not exceed the greater of one hundred dollars ($100) or the amount you have paid us in the past three months. Applicable law may not allow the limitation or exclusion of liability or incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. In such cases, our liability will be limited to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
